Bolan Times : (Web Desk) Chairman of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) Nasrullah Baloch has said that the number of forced missing cases has increased in Balochistan and at the same time the killing of missing persons in fake encounters is going on. He said that in Iran Blochs are also being targeted for violence and brutality. Many Balochs are killed in Iran. Even women are forcefully being disappeared like men. We condemn them all. (Intekhab Daily, Oct.9)

Missing persons commission received 8869 cases in 11 years, 6648 cases were disposed of while 5337 people returned to their homes from detention centers and prisons. This was stated in the recent report of the Commission on Missing Persons. It was said that the government established the Commission on Missing Persons in March 2011. At that time, the Ministry of Interior sent 136 cases to the commission. Later, the registration of such cases increased. And the period of the missing persons commission continued to be extended by the concerned governments while the commission under the chairmanship of Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal continued its efforts to find the missing persons. According to the report released on October 2022, the Missing Persons Commission received 8869 cases from March 2011 to August 2022, out of which 6648 cases were dealt with.  It further states that the commission dealt with 42 missing persons cases in September. Among them, 37 missing persons were traced. The commission has also provided financial assistance through pensions and other sources from government institutions to take care of the affected families. (Jasarat)
